Conference: Uncertain Knowledge in the Middle Ages

This conference will be held from 7 – 9 April 2011, King’s College, Cambridge.

What are the forms in which later medieval thinkers articulate epistemological skepticism, relativism and doubt? Is it possible to voice different forms of uncertainty in different institutional contexts and languages?

This will be an interdisciplinary workshop for invited speakers, bringing into dialogue historians of philosophy, theology, history and literature. Papers are pre-circulated. There are a limited number of places for attendees interested in the topic, including graduate students, available on a first come, first-serve basis.

For more information, including information about the project, speakers, and how to attend, please see the conference website.
